Today, the first Service Center for all taxpayers was opened in the building of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) in Sarajevo. The service center is equipped with modern IT equipment donated to the ITA through the Joint Cooperation Project of the ITA and the Swedish Tax Authority, funded by the Swedish Development Agency Sida.
The protocol on the donation worth 40,000 BAM was signed by Ms. Caroline Ljungdahl on behalf of the Swedish Tax Administration, Ms. Eva Smedberg on behalf of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden in BiH and Mr. Mirsad Šrndić, Head of the Tax Department at the ITA Regional Center in Sarajevo. This is the opening of the first ITA Service Center, and it will soon be opened in the regional centers of Banja Luka, Mostar and Tuzla.
ITA Service Centers are intended for all indirect taxpayers who will be able to personally receive information in the field of indirect taxes, as well as instructions and clarifications for any problem regarding the application of regulations in the field of indirect taxation in BiH. Also, all other taxpayers in BiH will be able to get basic informations about the obligation to register and enter the VAT system in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as how to apply for entry into the VAT system, and what are the taxpayers’ obligations and rights.
