The Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) General Director, Mr. Zoran Tegeltija, met today with the representatives of the European Union Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The memebers of Delegation included Stefano Ellero, Head of Cooperation in the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Antonella Di Sandri, Head of Operations Section 2 (Economy) in B&H and Sanja Spaić Kurtović, program manager at the EU Delegation in B&H.
The meeting discussed current and future projects financed by the EU Delegation in B&H through IPA funds. Special attention was paid to the beginning of the implementation of the IPA 2020 project, in which it is envisaged that the EU will finance the BI/Business Intelligence software and part of the hardware in the Indirect Taxation Authority. The value of this project is 1.25 million euros. In addition, the meeting also discussed the just-started new twinning project in the ITA, which refers to Strengthening the capacity of the ITA in terms of improving risk analysis and improving legal and by-laws in the area of customs and VAT, as well as improving the capacity of the customs service in the global fight against money laundering. The total value of this project is 1 million euros.
We remind you that until now, the EU has financed several projects in ITA through IPA funds, the value of which is estimated at more than 40 million euros (software development, procurement of hardware, laboratory equipment, construction of border crossings, technical assistance and twinning projects).
