Seized different goods
The Indirect Taxation Administration (ITA) authorised officials in the area of Tuzla Regional Center in several separate actions temporarily confiscated various technical goods, tobacco and cigarettes without excise stamps.
The total value of temporarily seized goods in these operational actions is estimated at BAM 88,000.
ITA officers, Department for Enforcement of Regulations, Group for the Prevention of Smuggling and Misdemeanors of RC Tuzla in operational action KENTAUR on the basis of operational work and operational tactical measures taken in the area of RC Tuzla spotted 2 passenger motor vehicles in which they found finely cut tobacco (195 kg) intended for further distribution and circulation in the area of Tuzla Canton.
In the period from 13.07-26.07.2022. the officers of the aforementioned Group for the Prevention of Smuggling and Offenses of RC Tuzla carried out increased verifications on the circulation of excise goods, and on that occasion, while performing official actions, they found excise goods (cigarettes) in the possession of 5 persons that were not marked in the manner prescribed by law, nor were any statutory documentation. A total of 4328 packs of cigarettes were found.
Also, the above-mentioned officers discovered 3 customs violations at BC Karakaj with the use of specialised equipment (endoscopes, detectors) during a detailed inspection of passenger and cargo motor vehicles, during which they found hidden and undeclared goods (thermal camera, various technical equipment).
The goods in question have been temporarily confiscated, and the measures and actions foreseen by the law will be taken against the person before the competent judicial authorities. In the course of taking measures within its jurisdiction, specialised equipment and vehicles donated to the ITA by the American Embassy through the EXBS program were used.
