Jewellery and wristwatches seized
Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) authorised officers, at the Gradiška customs office, temporarily seized a large amount of women’s wristwatches and various jewellery, the estimated value at BAM 1,175,700.
A detailed inspection of an import consignment arriving in Bosnia and Herzegovina from China, which contained textiles declared for customs clearance, also revealed an attempt to smuggle goods. It is a large quantity of women’s watches and a large quantity of jewellery that were hidden in the pockets and sleeves of the textile products contained in the shipment. The smuggled goods were temporarily seized and their value is estimated at BAM 1,175,700. The discovered contraband was temporarily confiscated, and its value is estimated at BAM 1,175,700. Activities at the customs terminal in Gradiška were carried out by officers of the Group for the Prevention of Smuggling and Misdemeanors from the regional center of Banjaluka in cooperation with customs officers.
Appropriate proceedings will be initiated against the perpetrators of the described illegalities before the competent court.
