Members of the Joint Commission for Economic Reforms and Development, composed of members of the House of Peoples and the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, visited Indirect Taxation Authority. The management of the ITA, led by Director Mr. Zoran Tegeltija, informed the members of the commission about all important current topics related to indirect taxes.
There was discussion of proposals for legal solutions related to VAT, customs and excise duties, which have been very often mentioned in the public in recent months, especially in the sense of numerous requests for exemption from paying VAT, reduction of the VAT rate, or requests for VAT refund on a wide range of goods. The members of the Joint Commission, consisting of Ermina Salkičević – Dizdarević, Ilija Cvitanović, Snježana Novaković – Bursać, Mladen Bosić, Šemsudin Dedić, as well as secretary Edin Mukinović and expert advisor Dženan Suljović, were presented with the conditions in which ITA officers work, where it was particularly emphasised how poor working conditions in the ITA Headquarters and in the Banjaluka Regional Center.
At the meeting, the need for better technical equipment of the ITA was emphasised, so that the basic tasks performed by the ITA could be better, primarily the quality services provided by the ITA to taxpayers. The director of the ITA with his assistants informed the members of the Commission that for the first time since the establishment of the ITA, BAM 10 billion collected revenues from indirect taxes will be exceeded.
