Expensive wine, tobacco and textiles were confiscated
Authorized officers of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA), Regional Center Tuzla, in several separate actions at several locations, in cooperation with MIA Tuzla Canton (TC) police officers, confiscated a large amount of expensive wines, tobacco and textiles worth about BAM 206,000.
Authorized ITA officers, Group for Prevention of Smuggling and Misdemeanors of RC Tuzla, in cooperation with police officers of Tuzla Canton MIA , Police Administration Tuzla, in accordance with the instructions of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the orders of the Court of BiH, conducted a search of a legal entity business premises who was engaged in the sale of alcoholic beverages. During the search, 631 bottles of expensive wines without excise stamps were found, as well as documentation on illegal business.
Based on the collected information, the officers of RC Tuzla, Group for Prevention of Smuggling and Misdemeanors, temporarily confiscated items from an independent entrepreneur from the area of RC Tuzla for which there was no legally prescribed documentation. Namely, on the basis of available information about irregularities in the business operations of certain natural persons, they checked the turnover and origin of goods at 2 locations. On that occasion, they found a large quantity of goods of foreign origin for which there was no legal documentation (tracksuits, hoodies, etc.), i.e. 2124 pieces.
Also, officers of RC Tuzla, in cooperation with police officers of MIA TC, Police Administration Gradačac, found a large amount of tobacco with 2 natural persons, which were not marked in the manner prescribed by law. The total amount of seized finely cut tobacco is 190 kg.
According to a preliminary estimate, the total market value of the temporarily confiscated goods is about BAM 206,000.
For established illegalities, the perpetrators will be prosecuted in accordance with the applicable misdemeanor legislation.
Specialized equipment and vehicles donated to the ITA by the US Embassy through the EXBS Program and UNODC were used in the framework of measures, actions and activities during the implementation of this operational action.
