In the premises of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA), a meeting between ITA Director Mr. Zoran Tegeltija and representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was held. The meeting was led by Mrs. Alina Lancu, head of the mission.
At the meeting, there was a discussion about the collection of income from indirect taxes in 2023 and the trends regarding the collection of income for 2024.
The management of the Authority informed the representatives of the mission with collected revenues from indirect taxes in the amount of BAM 8 billion and 800 million, which represents an increase of 7.15% compared to the same period in 2022, and the expectation is that the growth trend of collected revenues will continue until the end of the year.
They discussed the draft of the new Law on VAT, improving the work of the ITA and recommendations for improving work in the upcoming period.
IMF representatives announced a new visit to the for March 2024, as well as readiness to provide technical assistance in the form of experts who have the necessary knowledge and who participated in previous missions, whose competences have been accepted and incorporated into the business processes of the ITA.
