Last call to freight forwarders to obtain a digital qualified ITA signature Edit | | Trash | View

27.06.2022 | News

The Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) alerts all customs representatives – freight forwarders, to urgently submit a request to the ITA to obtain a digital qualified signature, which will certify their transit customs declarations from August 1, 2022. At the moment, there are a large number of customs representatives who have not yet completed the procedure for issuing a digital qualified signature at the ITA. For those customs representatives who do not secure the digital qualified signature of the Administration in time, there may be a delay during the processing of electronic transit declarations.

We remind you that from August 1, 2022, the application of NCTS (New Traffic Computerised System) will begin in Bosnia and Herzegovina, at the national level. This specifically means that for all transit procedures, customs declarations are submitted exclusively electronically to the system of the Indirect Tax Administration, and each transit application must be certified with a new digital qualified signature.

The request for obtaining a digital qualified signature at the ITA is submitted in the competent regional center of the Administration where the taxpayer is based, and the procedure for obtaining and using the digital qualified signature of the ITA is very simple.

Bosnia and Herzegovina must use the electronic transit procedure for one year at the national level, after which it can apply to become a full member of the NCTS Convention. Then businessmen from Bosnia and Herzegovina will have easier procedures with much shorter waiting times at all the borders of the countries where the goods are transported. This specifically means saving time and money for the business community.
