MEMORANDUM ON DATA EXCHANGE SIGNED BETWEEN INDIRECT TAX ADMINISTRATION AND CUSTOMS ADMINISTRATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today in Banja Luka between the Indirect Taxation Authority and the Customs Administration of the Republic of Croatia.
The memorandum was signed by the director of the Indirect Taxation Authority, PhD. Miro Džakula and Director of the Customs Administration of the Republic of Croatia Mario Demirović. The aim of the signed Memorandum is to exchange information on a daily basis between the customs services of the two countries, namely total information on the exit of goods from one country and total information on imports of goods to another country. Based on these data and exchanged information, any abuses related to the transfer of goods across the border will be prevented, and the possibility of corruption in the customs services of the two countries will be prevented.
At today’s meeting, it was specifically agreed that the customs services will exchange information on the declaration of entry and the amount of cash, all in order to prevent money laundering.
It was also agreed to further exchange useful information between the previously determined contact points in the two customs services, which are important for the suppression of illegal trade, especially tobacco and tobacco products.
At today’s meeting, it was agreed that the transport of goods across the Svilaj border crossing, opened at the end of last year, will begin on March 1, 2022.
